A handful (less than two dozen) were made in 1999. The rest were made in 2000 and afterwards.

The primary reason the woofer driver surrounds were changed was due to the known urethane rot issue that occurred - mostly in Taiwan.

I don't recall a single problem in the USA through the end of 2005.
