RE: 80Hz to 200Hz

I posted a new Horn News by chance on horns in this range.
I can tell you without a doubt. there is no direct radiator that can do what a well designed horn will do in this range.
I did some work with Fane a long time ago, and designed an 18" woofer with a 120-Oz magnet, an fs of 55Hz, to do just this -80-300Hz range.

Flop.

The horrible truth will not go away, 8cft of horn is just simple better than 3cft of reflex/sealed.
There is a case for multiple 15's whose area is similar to a 100Hz horn.
Good, but not good enough.
