There is not a great difference without the bumps. The driectivity is better with the bumps, and so is the distortion.
If you can sell the "B" units, and get "C" units I would do it.
But, as I said there is not a profound change in sound with or without bumps.
It is a question of money. ANY duo-cone is worth having.
A passive radiator is a cone with no magnet. See Olson's book. He invented it.
