I prefer the folded vent, as it makes a clear definition from the rear chamber to the vent. Also helps in bracing. Since it is already a short horn, no end correction is required. The main problem with this design is that there is always a large suck-out between 100Hz and 200Hz.
But, you do get quite a bit of output. By making a vertical "Onken" vent, you can minimize the suck-out at the expense of some efficiency.
The Hawaii box and the hit horn show this effect.
