Jensen Transflex - how far did it miss Tomservo's tapped-horn?

might have been drivers of that day and lack of positive flare? seems like Tappen could have been pretty dasrn close in 1951 or whatever year transflex appeared if experiments had varied.

are regular transflex with ~ equal cross-sectional pipe area worth pursuing as sub? - or too messy/troublesome? I'm stuck with infamous Karlson as punch boxes.
