Hello,I would like to use an active filter between the bass and a compression driver/horn combo. However, in order to protect the compression driver from eventual DC from my amp, I would like to combine the active filter with a simple 6dB passive high pass filter (just a large cap) on the high pass.
My concern is how to do this correctly. I want to divide 24 dB/octave both high and low. The low active filter will just be 24 dB active, and the high pass will be 18 dB/octave active and 6 dB passive. The question is:
Should the cap for the 6dB passive filter be calculated as if it was just a simple 6 dB passive filter, OR should it be calculated as the second cap in a 4. order passive, OR??
Thanks!
Regards
Peter
