Home High Efficiency Speaker Asylum

Need speakers that can rock with just one watt? You found da place.

Re: I will take a step back - ok how good ARE his speakers?

I'm not a disinterested party so have your grains of salt ready (or hip-boots on), but shoot me an e-mail if you'd be interested specific comments. If you send me your phone number and a good time to call, that would probably be the most efficient. Don't worry I'm not a hard-sell kinda guy; for better or worse I tend to be pretty easy-going.

I built speakers as a hobby for twentysomething years, have owned fullrange electrostats for about 10 years (starting with Quads; been a SoundLab dealer for 6 years now), and recently began manufacturing a speaker of my own. Among speakers I especially admire are the Edgarhorn Titans, Classic Audio Reproductions T-series and Hartsfield, Cogents, PiSpeakers 7 Pi, a well set-up pair of Avantgarde Duos or Trios, Second Rethm, and John Tucker's eXemplars. In my opinion the Summas are in the same league as these guys. Each excels in some areas, and each has its inevitable compromises (sonic or otherwise). The Summas happen to coincide well with my personal priorities.

Are they "one of the world's best"? Well, the Summas are designed to perform well in areas that most designers don't place high priority on, and in my opinion these are areas that really matter for long-term listening enjoyment. In my opinion that which they do well, they do very very well.
