your posts have lost merit because:amps do have a huge impact on sound, to make a statment
that they do not shows that you are "close minded" to the
issue. in fact the differences can be huge.
do this test:find a single ended triode amp with uses a tube called a "45"
find a altec horn speaker from the 70s model 19 etc......
feed it with a turnable such as a vpi, rega etc...how does it sound?
now go back to your lab
plug a solid state amp such as a "adcom" into your speakers.note how they sound different
While I haven't read everything Earl Geddes has written, I don't recall his ever saying anything akin to a 45 SET amp not possibly being able to sound different than an Adcom. The frequency response limitations of a typical 45 SET amp alone would put the lie to such a claim.
Looks to me that you're just setting up a straw man in which case the loss of merit is yours, not Earl Geddes'.
