French's rock and roll wasn't for me but O Solo is really fine. did you try Grant Collins? - dunno how much deep bass content and its not Max Roach - but a lotta work with good time keeping(sure wish Steve Clarke do another drum album he was musical)
did you ever cook up a good folded horn to play to 400 any where near as good as straight-shooter? I still want University Classic S9 (or Dean)
