freddyi,It is much-much more involved then just the speakers. Yes, over 110-sensitive 4 ways-properly built, SET driven, full range (including the sub frequencies), phase coherent horn installation (in a room with a suitable/balanced reverberation time) can be “close†and very capable. But if you spend a huge amount of time and money to built and set-up the system to make it to perform properly then you might realized that there is not a lot of electronic that could be qualified to drive it. Particularly it is true at sub 200 Hz region. Nop, to have “any base like producing fart-amplifier†will not work… There is some relations how the lows modulated in conjunction with the rest of the spectral and much much more… I do not want to go deep into the subject (and particularly at the Sponsored Board) but among all know to me SETs only Lamm ML2 has a PROPERLY STRUCTURED BASS (besides everything else). If you 4-amp that “properly built/set-up system†with those ML2 they you get as close as contemporary sound reproduction can do. Be devised that after you have THAT system and have experience it’s capacity for a continue period of time you might discover that there is a next higher level of audio reproduction…. where you question itself become to be irrelevant.
