Hello,I've been working in studio for over 15 years, so I heard drumkits live.
As far as reproducing drumkit properly only one (of the many systems I've heard) could really do it : a four way concrete horn system with two bass horns of 4 sqm mouth each and two low mids horn of 1,5 sqm.
My favourite tests for kick and snare: intro of AC DC Highway to hell, very close pick up but nice and Diana Ross I'm coming out intro + break. It is funny how can a system that impressed you on other types of music ( baroque, jazz trio, vocals ...) can turn ridiculous when you play those two and know what real drums sound alike...pierre-henri
