The recording I'm "aware of", ahem, was made with two AKG D200E mics, going into a Roberts (Akai) recorder, quarter track at 7-1/2 ips. The sound is very good, except for when the trumpet soloist played too close to the PA mic - then he sounded like a kazoo through the PA system. There's nothing I can do about it without screwing up the sound of the rest of the band, not that I haven't tried several times over the years. I might take one more run at it, though.
