Non-linearity of air

George raises several great points. One thing that keeps coming to mind as I read your post is the phrase "non-linearity of air". The sound pressure, and therefore the air particle displacement, at the throat of a horn (as well as in the driver itself) can be quite high.

I know I've got this data *somewhere*, but if someone (Duke, Tomservo, Steyr, ...) could provide a reference to distortion levels of the air itself at various levels and frequencies, that would be excellent.

Thank you!
