Hi, what you say is probably right but doesn't apply to me at all..
I'm sorry I should have been more specific in my original post
- I have over 3500 classical lp's all european pressings
- My TT has four different tonearm and cartridge choices, several different MC step ups and phono sections availalbe
- My CD playback is world class as is my tuner set-up
- My KEFs are 28-years old and I am original owner, though I haven't listened to them for over, maybe 12 years as they were in storage
- My horn system has parts that are much older than the KEFS (my Vitavox S2's for example) so I don't think nostalgia or age has anything to do with it.
- My horn-system is maybe not as good as others, but that's exactly my point in the original post. My guess is very very few people out there have horn systems that are properly reproducing instrument tonality (especially mass string sections of orchestras). I don't doubt that many people out there have horn systems that can let you know if there is distortion or not in the recording but who cares?
Still I believe that your post is correct, thanks
