Errata

Or corrigendum if you prefer.

"Roy owns several patents on Tractrix horn design,"

Rogelio (Roy) Delgado jr. has his name on two patents, neither associated with tractrix horns.

Tracy Crawford's name is first on the patent for the modular box system that Klipsch adopted for its portable PA gear. The patent is for a series of modular boxes made of end grain balsa covered with fiberglass. This is a method long used in the boating industry.

Roy Delgado's actual patent is on a vented horn, a principle PWK has stated dislike for.

The CF4 was an expensive speaker to make, none of the drivers were made in house or by Eminence. Klipsch didn't make enough money on them.

They didn't show well in casual demos either, the vertical dispersion was too narrow. If you were standing, the midrange went away. This is natural with the MTM design, especially with a high crossover point and large woofers.

They also suffered from midrange 'gargle', another consequence of the high crossover point.

"could this be telling us something...... ?"

It tells me that Roy, and you, are happy with them.

They are not the best thing since sliced bread.
