Home High Efficiency Speaker Asylum

Need speakers that can rock with just one watt? You found da place.

I know

Tom

I know all about CLF, I worked on the standard committe that did this. I objected to "closed" formats then and I object to them now.

I know all that you say your speakers hsould do, but quit honestly I can't tell if the measurements bear out the claim.

If, as you say, they begin to loose "control" at a "few kHz" then, to me, thats a big issue, because the ear begins to increase in its resolving power about about 1 kHz and gets extremely sensitive at about 3 kHz and above. Problems in this frequency range are killers. I go out of my way to get this range correct.

Your correct about the polar map is one plane only, but a few planes typically tells the story. You see for room modelers this is not enough, but for looking at the sound quality of the speakers system it usually is. Its seldom that a speaker is well behaved in one plane and very bad in another.

Once again, I'd love to see polar maps in two planes, vertical and horizontal, then I'd be comfortable with what you are saying.
