I would still contend that a polar map of pressure as a contour plot on a plane of angle versus frequency is the way to look at this kind of data. Diffraction and resonances are easy to see in this plot that would not be visible in the other forms that you noted. the simple -6 dB point versus frequency is misleading in that it is referenced to the axial pressure. This is not good. And the polar ballons being only a single frequency are too limited.
Polar maps are standard in Europe and we need to adopt them here as they are oh so telling of performance.
