TomWay too much to digest in an E-mail. Has the patent application published yet? That usually only takes about a year. I'd be interested in reading it.
From what you say a very large number of factors have to all balance out to yield a desirable result, not that it can't be done, just that it is usually not very robust to thermal changes etc. I'm pretty big on simplicity and your description sounds pretty complex. Is there any way that I could see a polar map of the system response from 200 - 10,000 Hz. If you don't have this type of plot but can send me off-axis frequency responses (as numerical data), I can plot the polar amp myself and I would be more than will to post it.
You see, to me, the waveguide walls must be very strickly controlled for good polar response - area changes are pretty much irrelavent. I suspect that your device would work well at lower frequencies but not so well at higher frequencies. But that remains to be seen.
I have published the unmanicured data for my speakers since, to me, the proof of the theory is if it works. I still haven't seen better polar responses than mine, although I have to admit that the Klien and Hummel stuff that was posted looks pretty good. Almost as good as mine, but at about three times the price!
But you can post images in these notes, I don't understand why you say that you can't.
I am currently doing some Pro sound work for clients in Brazil and more recently in Thailand. If you can show me some real performance benefits from your technology I would consider licensing it for use in these designs. But I need the data first, no listening tests for me thanks.
