I've got a pair of Beauhorn Virtuoso References on order from Sounds of Silence -- should arrive here in another week or so. Now, call me an idiot, but I ordered these things sight unseen (or should I say, sound unheard). But there are several pairs of ears out there -- owned both by personal acquiantances and audio critics whose tastes I know and share -- who have absolutely RAVED about the performance of these speakers in systems similar to my own, so I felt pretty confident about this purchase.I've also got to admit that the AvantGarde Duos were among my first horn-loaded loudspeaker experiences, and I really LOVED these speakers. They had been set up with extreme care by a knowledgeable dealer, and to my ears, at least, they didn't sound aggressive, honky, or incoherent. But I simply couldn't afford them. Now, if the Beauhorns sound even MORE natural, then I may wind up quitting my day job -- it'll be very hard to get me out of the house!
I'll let you know what I think once the speakers arrive...
