Even if the "new spec" were identical to the old spec, I find that charging 6-8 Times the amount of money for a driver that's supposedly made from the original Altec tooling to be more than a bit excessive.
You can get Pro drivers with Neo magnets today for much less $$ that will outperform them in the right horn or custom bass reflex box.
I have found many of the older drivers 30-40 years old that have the same as original Measured Thiele/Small Parameters that work just fine, if they have "mud magnets" and no Alnico, which are over rated.
