djk: The mod involves woodworking.First the back of
the high frequency cabinet is closed in.Second the
woofer rear chamber is opened up into the now enclosed
high frequency cabinet.Third the high frequency
cabinet is vented out the rear.Fourth a step down eq
is put on the amplifier input.Similar to the B&W 800
series eq it can be passive if your pre amp can drive
a 5k load and sound ok or it can be active and built
with a single buffer.
