Posted parameters were from later re-cones. Original units had equal length or slightly underhung coils (depending on which version) on paper coil formers. Re-cones had Kapton formers with the longer coils found on the newer units. The top plates had to be replaced to re-cone with the Kapton former, increasing gap volume. Efficency was reduced from both the longer coil and the greater gap volume.

Published x-max specs are not done the same for newer drivers. It is not easy to make a comparison for that reason.
