SOunds like sound sense to me..One idea for a lo-cost HE direct radiator is fostex FT17H, emminence alpha 8 (not the midrange version the FR, open back)in an OB and a similar sensitivity 12 or 15 in BR box.. will be around 98 db/w and cost around $150 per side in drivers the cross over would be only on the bass box - probably around 150Hz - if a good driver is chosen, it could be 1st or 2nd order, and a 1st order on the tweeter, leaving the alpha 8 (or fostex, or what ever) doing the full range thang, unhindered by a box, and a PA BR for some guts...
heheh, might even build a pair one of these days..
