Hey Tommy - my Spectrascan (which was about 2dB lower in output than 400/416) would clip pretty quick on playback of good friend 9took a wife) but awful musician's drums from homemade PCM recordinds in late 80's on my K-horns - one reason why some PA sytems can sound so crappy - instruments like horns and drums have higher peak power than speakers can deliver - trombone with good player is damn loudlook at Burwens system - jillion watts, 5 concrete horns - probably clips now and then doing drum playback - love good drums and drummin' - drums from you-know-where sounds about like plastic garbage cans - cheap ones at that
when small driver sytesm sound loud - its probably cause of distortion - with a 4.3cu.ft. Karlson box and William Burroughs easy to lull into 115+dB bass peaks and not notice too bad gurgle
anyhow - to music - did mosta da Ramones stuff make it to CD with good sound? - whats real kool? - I missed out on a lotta good stuff
