High Efficiency Speaker Asylum Need speakers that can rock with just one watt? You found da place. |

I listen to variety of rock music, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, U2, Deep Purple, plus solo artists like Joan Armatrading, Eric Clapton..
I have two solid state Class A monoblocks which can deliver 50 W into 8 ohms. My source is a linn sondek, music maker cartridge, and TVC preamp.
I am getting increasingly dissatisfied with my current speakers, and am interested in doing a DIY speaker project using a full range driver. (Fostex / Jordan / Lowther)
I want music, dynamics, pinpoint 3D stageing,... bass punch. But not 'HIFI CD sound' for want of a better description.
There seems to be so many designs out there, but does anyone have a good suggestion for a driver + cabinet design, considering my music tastes and the amps power output?
