I've yet to hear a (passive) hi-fficiency speaker (say; over 95db?) that offers bass - (let alone down to 20z) at anything like the same spl's as a similar size/cost inefficent speaker driven by a brute of an amp.Now it may be that the hi-efficiency brigade aren't interested in bass or they're just to biased. Personally, I run reasonably efficient speakers and am well aware of the trade-offs...
