Thanks, biamp is part of the long term plan. Still looking for and electronic xover. I have the "how to" speaker book by Badmaiefff (sp) and would like to get a carpenter to build a set of better enclosures, as well. Even thinking about getting the 500 hz horns and drivers.I was considering the very thing you mention about solid state sounding very good if you have a good front end. My records are a bit more musical than CDs even on the VPI jr with my present amps and CDP.
