Hi,
I'm listening to my Adire He10.1's(95.5 db eff.),coupled with my Eico hf 81,and I can't begin to tell you what a value these speakers are at $299.00(you build them).I wouldn't use them with 2a3's or 45's,but with about 10 watts, they are very dynamic and balanced.Whoever does the voicing and crossover design for Adire has a genuine gift,as these are very humble components(Emminence)and have no right to sound this good. They need good stands about 28 in. tall, and sound best slightly decoupled from the back wall, about 2ft.or so.Bottom appears to be clean down to the low 50hz,and they get a little tubby with too much boundary reinforcement(so you can't cheat).
I bought these as a backup for horn experiments, and I'm so pleased with them that I haven't taken the time to dis- assemble them to veneer the cabinets! They don't come close to the speed or immediacy of horns, but if you prefer the sound of cones, this may be your baby.
Best,
Pat Landrum
