Thorsten posted:PS, I sincerely doubt that the Dynaco ST-70 will do +/- 0.5db (or ANYTHING remotely like it) from 20Hz to 20kHz into a Yamaha NS-1000 Monitor - which I believe qualifies as "load" - so please more precise mentioning of the conditions under which the measurements where obtained.
"I meant 'nominal load', as in 4, 8 or 16 ohms, of course. I except, of course, speakers with *exceptionally* unkind or nearly capacitive loads; even those which have for an excuse above average performance, since mentioning such serves mostly to obscure the relevant point, and it is also not my particular intent to promote speakers with what I regard as having a design insufficiency or which may pose a threat to some solid state amplifiers.
IAC, that's how my ST70 measures, from 20 - 20 khz. My apologies, but I would be an egregious liar if I were to say that its response drooped by more than approximately 1db @ 20 khz into nominal load, compared to midband.
