Sorry...I didn't mean to brush you aside. If it makes you feel better, I'm not shy about using a Citation II with KT90s or a Scott LK150 with 6550s with horns. While I acquired them when "modestly" priced they are expensive now.
I was wanting to emphasize the prospect of other tubes that while not necessarily over the top in output power were certainly worth exploring because of their range and audio excellence. Also these can be low cost if you care to DIY an "El Cheapo" or moderately priced if a commercial amp.EDIT: I tried to post a link for the "El Cheapo" schematic but neither works now. Maybe Eli can help out with that as it's his baby.
