get VOT's - or something close. Valencias aren't THAT big; well, OK, they are. BUT if space and size are still a problem, there CAN be compromise.I love the "magic" of SE DHT's. But, the Mrs. doesn't want mammoth speakers, and besides, 3.5W just doesn't crank full orchestral material even on horns - many of them, anyway.
my solution? 2-way JBL based, with Edgar round horns. Push-pull DHT's (6B4G's). the speakers are on the low end of high efficiency, and I lose a bit of the SE "magic", but I have speaks about the size of Cornwalls with MUCH better horns/drivers while retaining the DHT sound (I honestly think DHT makes more difference than SE). I will bi-amp eventually with SE 45 on top.
get the Cornies if you want to try them, you can always peddle them off - that's what is nice about used gear. but don't give up on your ideal.yeah, vinyl Rollins on a good horn is simply INCREDIBLE
