Just to second Tom's opinion so to speak, I have listened to several friends pairs of various large Klipsch speakers over the years, and they are damn good, especially with the tweaks applied that have been mentioned here. I always come back to my Altec's or JBL's however. Like Tom, I have a pair of 605A's, and they will whisper to you or rock with anything you put on them. My other Altec set-up has JBL HF drivers on the top, and yes they DO sound differnt..the Altecs being smoother, less grainey, but I still prefer them to the Klipsch....Please understand, I am NOT knocking Klipsch in any way, we all "hear" differntly, and I feel that the old Klipsch line is FAR superior to any of the near mass-market stuff out there. I feel that you owe it to yourself though to perhaps searching for/ getting some Altec or JBL drivers and making your own system out of them. That route is not for everyone I know, but if you think you might enjoy that path, you'll never regret it:) Best of luck whatever you choose, and again, those Klipsch are fine speakers. Regards, Dave
