Re: old wizzer cone speakers with "presence" control - what were the circuits?

Fred,
I looked at some more full range drivers, Fraziers(probably made by Utah)and some Rat Shackers.Fraziers have a button type covers bout the size of a quarter where the cone meets the spider,Rat Shack has same thing but with a pressed gauze type of dust cover that is transparent when you look close and is larger than a silver dollar over it.I guess that button could be a wizzer too.Whole lot of wizzin goin on.I have some wacky dust covers too.2 vintages of Jensen full range 12" alnicos.1 pair of PL types from 49 and a pair of PQ types from the late 50s maybe early 60s.Early ones have covers that look like eyes.Pretty common and I guess the iris is the opening for the button which since I find it in speakers made over more than a 40 year span must be the wizzer and not the paper shapes around it.But the wierd ones are the Q alnicos. They have non transparent cones that point out as dust covers.Only time I have seen that. But are they wizzers? Now I'm confused.1st time someone pointed at the center of a speaker and said wizzers I thought it was the paper pointing out from the cone and surrounding one of those eyes.No Lpads on any of these though.Well I am sure someone here will happily set us straight.
David
