Fred,
Most(all?) of the old drivers I have seen that have an Lpad have separate tweeters in the center that the Lpad controls with the central shape of the large cone being the midrange. You would only have a Lpad if there were 2 voice coils and a wizzer is just more paper shaped around the edge of a dust cap in the center of a full range speaker.Coax with 2 drivers, triax has 2 drivers with the tweeter adjustable,bi-flex is a 2 pieced cone joined about half way up from the dust cap to the basket. What am I forgetting?University made some speakers that had a wizzer that looked like another driver and some with those wizzers and a tweeter with a Lpad.Stephens made a speaker with a metal swirl in the center and Eico had a upward firing coax that had a foil covered paper funnel in the center aimed at a cone to disperse the highs. If you can think of it somebody probably has tried it.I made horns out of the metal trash cans and some 3x5s or something in the Art class when I was in high school.Same concept as EVs Georgian's mid I think. You find a wizzer operated with a Lpad and I would not be surprised at all.I just haven't seen one yet.
Good night all,
David
