I meant as seperate systems not together. Though I suppose ES-dynamic hybrids like Martin Logans would be improved if the electrostatic panel were mated with a basshorn rather than a direct radiator. But given the dynamic limitations of the ES panels the 8" woofers of my Vistas work fine. It's surprising how quickly you get used to 8" woofers when they're the best you can do. ;)
Many years ago I mated a set of Maggies and Klipsch LaScalas; I used an active crossover and used the LaScalas below 400hz with the Maggies above 400hz. Most dynamic Maggies ever.
