Paul has an advanced degree in mathematics, works for Boeing as a noise research engineer, is a longtime member of the AES and is head of R&D for Bottlehead Corp. He is also an accomplished wine maker, a great cook and loves Mahler (for which I forgive him).If the guy says that models, which he competently derives on his own on a regular basis, are only *part* of the process of determining what something sounds like, I daresay he is qualified to express an informed opinion on the subject.
