Bill -for what its worth I'll try to use my old/crippled SD-LMP program - doesn't save models anymore - if you're familiar it allows rough modeling input of driver rolloffs and damping ratios to mimic the drivers curves, then xover input type and values (assuming conjugate Zoebel networks) are piddled with til an acceptable graph appears - I still don't trust it to produce a decent speaker - should be better than nothing. Don't know if its a good idea to fool with diffraction step in the model or not - if I do I'll give it not more than 3dB and not worry.
I've got to find a midrange - might try a Beta 8 CX for its concentric horn featrure.
Tell me Bill - if I use Bob Bullock's old simulator BPBOXMOD which handles either 1st order low-pass/hipass/or bandpass that predicts a dip above a sealed box resonance for common textbook values of 1st order xover C - also an output and excursion peak around resonance (I think program uses Geddes equations as its function was to examine bandpass boxes and methods of LF extension with a large series cap) Are these dips "real" real behavior? - if so will a Zoebel network prevent them from happening? I think I've seen the dip with a 6" 2way being driven from a 2nd order passive hi-pass when I tried to sum a AR M6 to a bandpass box and limit the M6's LF excursion.
My Best
Fred
