I have a Scott LK-48B (kit version of 222-D) and I use it with vintage Wharfedale W-70 speakers. The speakers are efficient (above 95 dB) and are three-way speakers with alnico drivers. 12" woofer, 10" midrange, and 3" tweeter. The drivers in these things are pristine. I replaced the caps and cleaned the poentiometers in the crossovers and these speakers just love the Scott and vice versa. The speakers don't like big power. They excel with jazz, blues, folk, etc. Muscial little beasts... Sand-filled cabinet (back-panel).Too bad you're up in the NYC area. I'll be posting these for local sale soon (wimper, sniff, sniff...). Too much stuff floating around the house. Wife's on me.
Also have Klipsch KG-4.5s that I'll be selling. Not nearly as good as the Wahrfedales but they're efficient and cheap as well. Good for pounding out the classic rock tunes.
