Basically you have a two way speaker box. It’s got a hole for a 10†woofer and a tweeter (what is the size of the hole for the tweeter?). The bose drivers are ok but better ones can be purchased. Typically a 10†woofer and a tweeter are not used because it can create a ‘gap’ in the middle resulting in a speaker lacking midrange. So you need a woofer that can play higher up in frequency and a tweeter that can play lower down in frequency to compensate for that lack of midrange. If you do not want to cut any wood for the rectangle shaped tweeter and want to simply drop another tweeter into the hole that’s already there you will need to take out the tweeter and measure the hole. May want to do this for the woofer too just in case. This way we can find you drop in replacements and keep things easier for you. After you choose your parts you can see how the crossover (capacitors, resistors and even coils) can alter the sound. This way you can experiment and tailor the sound to what you like best.
Peace,
