I think that I've always said that the Summa is a modern day 4430. In fact I replaced my 4430's with the Summas. The 4430's had a great low end and midrange, but the horn was very bad being a diffraction device I did not realize how bad until we did the subjective test (on my web site) and the 4430's faired way below the other three designs, except in one area - low end. It was rated as having the best low end - but not statistically significant as all the larger systems had good low ends. I think the low-end of the 4430's stood out because the upper end was so bad. There is no doubt that this basic design approach has a lot of pluses.
