Hi Duke -- suspect some throw together (many diy-er are very good!) mix & match horn setups where patterns and DI are mixed might make pretty messy lobes yet may 'work' either in mono or have certain sweet areas in 2-channel
domes with stepped foam waveguides might be ok for close listening.for some reason my old MG1 could not deal with a larger room while Bruce's old system 100 did ok - and that 250Hz tractrix driven with LE5 with Sd ~St wasn't a large midhorn - -even 2-8" and a crummy little horn seemed better overall than the old maggie. also ran k-horns in that room. - used Tympani 1D in a small room and liked it -at least with Slam Stewart and Jo Jones - haha
sorry to rattle - thanks for link
