Someone quoted on your site essentially stated that a 'point source' direct radiating speaker in effect could not reproduce input waveshapes accurately.If this were true, then analog media using minimum phase equalization would suffer the same shortcoming, but that is known not to be the case. As an example of why this problem does not occur the fact is that any constant phase characteristic with varying frequency differentiates into a group delay of zero, thus the waveshape information is potentially recoverable with appropriate equalization, driver positioning etc..
