I went down this road a couple of years ago. I had Klipsch Heresys and wanted more. So I got a pair of Khorns, great speaker but did not thump my chest, so I got a pair of Altec A7 with 1505 mids but the sound was confused and there was a distinct lack of midbass, so now I am waiting on Edgarhorns. I ordered the straight 80 hz bottoms aand the Salad bowl mids. I can use my Altec drivers. I auditioned them at a friends and they have the sound I have been looking for. The once I auditioned where driven by a bottle head amp. Good luck.
