Greets!I experimented with just capping off a 511/802 and settled on 2kHz with a 1uF bypass cap (nom. 8 ohms), with the 515s running wide open, so based on that, as a first approximation I recommend 2.4kHz for the 811/806, with no low pass and just shelve the HF for best in-room response, bypassing the shelving as required.
Ultimately though, I wound up at 500Hz/4th active with a supertweeter to minimize comb filtering in both axis's and maximize the 511's performance. I guess it boils down to either how 'vintage' you want them to sound or how 'minimalist' you are. Most of the folks who heard mine both ways preferred the minimalist system when played at typical HIFI levels, but much preferred the power optimized system when it came time to go 'live' or used as a movie soundtrack playback system.
