The arrangement with woofer on floor and horn in bass port will do pretty well. Smaller spaces than any American audiophile would consider don't keep our Asian bretheren from adoring the Altec sound.
The JBL D-123 "full-range" speaker has an awesomely lively and colorful sound, but the breakup mode at 2.2kHz means crossing over below that for best effect. Still, it sounds pretty damn cool with just a slot tweeter and a simple L-C crossover and an L-pad.John
