David, I think you've got it! The earlier ones are gray or silver, the later ones are green. They are usually mounted to those long, skinny adapters, as djn has reported. Four of these mounted to Altec 1003B horns are definitely worth scarfing up. Who knows, the drivers might even be the W.E. originals, rather than the later Altec versions.
