Mike---Maybe they sound so good because they're VTL, not just that they're tubes? Maybe QSC SS would sound better? I dunno. I'm very leery of considering any amplifier technology inherantly superior, execution and not type may be the key. I especially think this after having heard gainclones sound much better (to me) than highly regarded SETs.In any case my point is that horns can sound very good with SS and that those who claim horns can "only" sound good with SETs or tubes or SS or whatever are in error.
