Excuse me, but I have used and heard Altec's and Klipsch's of all types, and they both are very good sounding. But with the Altec's, you also need to use the right amp, as this is important. If you would have taken those drivers out of the cabinets and made a proper vented enclosure, you would have found that what you are saying is hogwash. You simply cannot use the cabinet that you were using and expect it to sound right in your living room. The speakers you were using are not made to be in as small a room as you put them in. A person can tell that you have not in any way messed with Altec's and for that matter Klipsch's and you can talk all you want about Altec's until you are red in the face, but until you get a good match to your room with the Altec's you will never know how they sound. Lets take those Altec's and your Klipsch's to a small hall and see how they each sound. Those Altec's will blow those Klipsch's away. Those Klipsch's will sound like 5 inchers.Kenny
