The mantaray and other constant directivity horns involve some serious compromises, i.e. discontinous flare. Sectoral horns sound better, and multicells better yet. Other horns made for theaters such as the RCA radial horns are something you may want to consider. Steve Schell has built large conical flare mid horns which he seems to find superior to the large 300hz multicells, which are the best mid horns I have heard myself.Jonathan Weiss
