No one with any kind of sanity and knowledge of basic electronics "argues" that lotsa watts are required with a 100 db sensitive loudspeaker. True, regardless of type or brand.
I really do wish they would rate Amplifiers in DBwatts. That way you could just have an addition problem to solve on a third grade level.
Marketing will never let that happen. Almost like ISO vs. DIN ratings for film "speed" before digital cameras took over in 2005. Kodak used to advertise their ISO 1,000 film with a portrait lit by one candle. The lay people were impressed by that ad. Truth is, it's only 3 1/3 stops difference from ISO 100, but the numbers look 10 X bigger, so it's more impressive.
